Chronology of cameras Ciro
Traduction de Manuel M
The first publicity for this camera that I find in my american magazines goes back to March 1941. The camera is presented there like an innovation. The Ciro brand has then as an address Detroit (100 east, Atwater St). The model presented is sold 42.50 dollars. It is described like having a shutter going from 1/10 to 1/200 second. The lens is a Wollensak Velostigmat 3.5/83 mm. In September, the lens is indicated like having a focal distance of 85 mm. In November, the price does to 52.50 dollars.
A folder a little later presents a range a little wider. The models are named from B to E. All the models have one 85 mm and not one 83 as in the publicity of March 1941. One can suppose that this publicity represented model A.
Meanwhile, the company has moves of Michigan in Ohio. Folders present the new place of manufacture.
The model B is equipped with a shutter Alphax (maximum 1/200), as from 1946.
The model c has a shutter Rapax (maximum 1/400) as from 1946.
The model D is identical to B, but with a Synchromatic shutter (equipped with a synchro-flash)
The model E is identical to C, but with a Synchromatic shutter (equipped with a synchro-flash)
The model presented here is thus the E.
